Individuals with autism and cognitive disabilities face an 85% unemployment rate, with support services abruptly ending at 22. This reality often leaves them feeling hopeless, lacking meaningful purpose and face-to-face connection with other people. Hope Filled Café aims to bridge this gap by offering specialized employment training and opportunities, enhancing their employability.

Hope Filled Café will be a welcoming community space situated near the Orono School District, designed for youth to come together, all while offering essential employment training. We hope to cultivate an environment of shared learning, inclusivity, and exceptional service, and aspire to become a cherished local hang-out for both students and the broader community alike.
Promoting Employment
Hope Filled Café will provide customized training for individuals with autism and cognitive disabilities, focusing on developing on-the-job skills that will not only improve their employability but also benefit all aspects of their lives and futures. Additionally, we will offer employment opportunities to local high school and college students, fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

~ We Don't Know What We Don't Know ~
Before my child was diagnosed, I had no idea about the depth and complexity of autism. It's been over a decade now, and this journey has been incredibly eye-opening. Through years of navigating this path alongside my child and the hundreds of other amazing kiddos I get to volunteer with, I've learned so much about autism—its challenges, its beauty, and the unique perspectives it brings. It's a journey that has not only reshaped my understanding of autism, but also my outlook on life, teaching me the value of empathy, patience, the importance of embracing differences, and the beauty in innocence. My hope is that you’ll get to experience this, too, with the realization that our awareness expands when we embrace new experiences with love, an open heart, and an accepting mind.
